The Outrigger Reef on the Beach is a 3.5-star property located on the west end of Waikiki, close to the military's beautiful Ft. DeRussey Park. This property is one of the larger Outrigger hotels in Waikiki, with 858 air conditioned rooms with city, partial ocean or ocean views.

Upon check-in, guests will receive a packet of three postcards, one packet per room. Outrigger will mail these "Postcards from Paradise" to anywhere in the world at no charge. Additional post cards can be purchased at the Reception Desk. With a minimum 3 night stay, children ages 5 to 10 will receive a complimentary Island Explorer Kit that includes a two part workbook, Friends of the Reef Adventure Guide and Let's Explore Hawaii Guide, backpack, sunglasses, pen and binoculars. Guests will also receive an Exclusively For You coupon booklet with great savings on dining, entertainment and shopping.

The property has a large, newly renovated swimming pool that has been retiled and now has a deck with teakwood chaise lounge chairs, whirlpool spa and poolside towel service. An all new fitness center features weights, treadmills and step machines. The Serenity Spa offers a true sense of Hawaiian rejuvenation with massages, facials and various body treatments.

The Hans Hederman Surf School provides an expert staff of trained surf instructors who can help you get up on your surfboard for a memorable ocean experience. The Outrigger Reef on the Beach also offers a Catamaran ride that cruises along the Waikiki Coastline with the Ko'olau Mountains in the background, providing a perfect opportunity to take pictures.

The first phase of the Outrigger Reef's $100 million dollar top-to-bottom transformation is now complete with the opening of the new Ocean Tower guests rooms in May 2007. Each newly designed deluxe room is spacious and beautifully decorated and comes with a fully furnished lanai and a large bathroom with a full-sized bath tub, complimentary toiletries and spacious vanities with lighted cosmetic mirror.

Bedding choices include 1 King or 2 Doubles. Some rooms offer 1 Queen and 1 Double Sofa Sleeper. Room amenities include a 32-inch flat screen LCD cable TV with pay-per-view movies, alarm/clock radio with an iPod, MP3 plug-in package, voice mail, mini-refrigerator, chaise lounge hide-a-bed, coffee/tea machine with complimentary coffee and tea, complimentary use of the in-room safe, complimentary high speed internet access and long distance calls to the neighbor islands, the U.S. Mainland and Canada.

Moderate rooms feature the same amenities but offer limited views and do not have a lanai. Bedding choices include 1 King, 1 Queen or 2 Doubles.

There are currently two oceanfront restaurants located on the property at this time. The Shorebird Restaurant & Beach Bar is very popular with locals and visitors alike. The windows offer great views right out onto the Waikiki Beach. Patrons cook their own food on large barbeque grills and will enjoy hand-carved steaks and fresh fish. Contemporary Hawaiian music is featured nightly.

For a more elegant dining experience, the Ocean House restaurant specializes in Pacific Rim cuisine and offers marvelous views of the Pacific Ocean. Starbucks and Jamba Juice are also both located on the property.

The Outrigger Reef on the Beach holds a Hawaiian Wedding Vow Renewal Ceremony every Tuesday and Friday morning at 8 am on the beach. The nondenominational ceremony is conducted by a practicing Kahuna (Hawaiian priest) who welcomes couple with a traditional Hawaiian chant and leads them to the water's edge to be honored by hula dancing and Hawaiian song.
